Description
Organic/Bio Adzuki Beans (Vigna angularis). Available in 500g and 1kg packs. Adzuki beans are small, reddish-brown legumes with a subtly sweet flavor, long used in Asian cuisine. They are a plant-based source of protein, at roughly 20% protein by weight, and contain dietary fiber. They are naturally gluten-free and provide iron, folate, magnesium, potassium, and manganese. Uses: add to soups and stews, serve in grain bowls with vegetables and toppings, or blend cooked beans with tahini, lemon juice, and spices for a spread. They also work well in sweet preparations such as pastes and desserts. A typical serving is 1/2 to 1 cup of cooked beans.
