Macrobiotic World Organic/Bio Burdock Powder Burdock Root Powder is made from Arctium lappa, a plant native to Europe and Asia with a long history of culinary use. Our powder is vegan, gluten-free and bio-organic. Flavor and texture: mildly earthy and slightly sweet, with a fine texture that blends easily into recipes. Ingredients: 100% Arctium lappa (burdock root), a natural source of dietary fiber. Suggested use: add 1 teaspoon (5 g) to smoothies, soups, stews, herbal teas, or use as a seasoning for roasted vegetables. Nutritional facts per 1 tsp serving: 10 kcal, total carbohydrates 2 g, dietary fiber 1 g. Recipe ideas: Smoothie: blend 1 tsp burdock root powder, 1 banana, 1 cup almond milk and 1 tbsp honey or another sweetener. Snack mix: toss 2 tsp burdock root powder with mixed nuts, dried fruit, a pinch of salt and 1 tbsp maple syrup, then bake at 175 C (350 F) for 10 to 15 minutes. Herbal tea: steep 1 tsp burdock root powder in 1 cup hot water, then add lemon and a sweetener to taste. Facial mask: mix 1 tsp powder with 2 tsp water, apply to clean skin and rinse after 15 minutes. Expired product can be used as a natural exfoliant in homemade scrubs or composted.
