Dulse Powder

Dulse Powder (Palmaria palmata) Dulse is a red seaweed harvested from the cold waters of the North Atlantic, where it has been part of coastal diets for centuries. The seaweed is dried and finely ground into a ruby-red powder with a subtly briny, mild umami flavour. Bio-organic, vegan and gluten-free. Ingredients: 100% Palmaria palmata (dulse). Contains iodine. Uses: sprinkle over soups, salads, bread and baked goods, or blend into smoothies. It can also be mixed with water or natural oils for a homemade face mask. Nutritional information per 30 g portion (about 2 tablespoons): 50 kcal, protein 6 g, carbohydrates 9 g, fat 0.5 g, iron 15% DV, magnesium 20% DV, potassium 10% DV. Suggested portion: 2 tablespoons (30 g). Recipe ideas: Blend 1 tablespoon of dulse powder with 1 ripe banana, 1 cup of almond milk and 1 tablespoon of agave syrup for a smoothie, and serve chilled. For a snack mix, toss 1 cup of mixed nuts in 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of dulse powder, then store in an airtight container. Storage: keep in a cool, dry place in a sealed container.
