Description

Organic Dried Irish Moss, 38g 100% organic Irish sea moss (dried red algae), wild-harvested from the Atlantic coast of Ireland. This seaweed is a natural source of iodine, sulfur, and minerals, with over 15% mineral matter and 10% protein. Its natural polysaccharides create a jelly-like texture, making it an excellent thickener, emulsifier, and vegan gelatin substitute. Nutritional highlights per 100g: potassium (68,206 mg/kg), magnesium (6,600 mg/kg), calcium (7,500 mg/kg), iron (20 mg/kg), iodine (0.139 mg/100g), zinc, B vitamins (B3, B12), vitamins C and E, and 47.2g dietary fibre. Naturally low in sugar, fat, and calories. Preparation: Soak a portion in water for a few hours, rinse thoroughly, then boil until it forms a gel. Store the gel in a glass container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Suggested uses: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of gel to smoothies, juices, or tea. Use as a natural thickener in vegan desserts such as puddings, ice cream, and mousse. Blend with yogurt or nut milk for creamy plant-based drinks. Add 1 tablespoon of gel to creamy soups. Use in facial masks or body treatments. Brew dried moss as a herbal tea using half a tablespoon per cup of water. Suggested portion: half a tablespoon of dried moss per use, or 1 to 2 tablespoons of gel per serving. Recipe ideas: Blend 1 tablespoon of gel with 1 banana, half a cup of coconut milk, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a little maple syrup, then chill. Or blend 1 tablespoon of gel with spinach, pineapple, ginger, and lemon juice. Certified organic by SKAL (Netherlands). No preservatives or artificial additives. Product of Ireland, sustainably sourced. Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, below 20°C. Discard if the moss develops an off odour or colour, and never consume if there are signs of spoilage. Leftover moss or gel can be composted or used as a plant fertiliser. Allergen notice: May contain traces of crustaceans.
